Hello fans, WhatsApp rolled out a new update to its iOS and Android apps. The new update brings some minor bug fixes – as well as some new formatting options. WhatsApp users can now use bold, italics and strikethrough in their text messages. And it might just change the way you talk to your
friends.

WhatsApp also introduced the ability to embed
a previous text in your reply, like a Quote Tweet on Twitter , and forward content to other conversations .

It's not immediately obvious how to access the new options since the app does not include them in the small selection menu you can
access by pressing and holding on a word in iOS.

How to Type Bold, Italics, and Strikethrough Text to WhatsApp.

Step 1. Launch WhatsApp messenger from your phone home screen.

Step 2. Select any of your friend with whom you would like to try this new options.

Step #3. Now to add Bold formatting, just add (asterisk) “*” before and after the specific words or phrases you want to embolden e.g. *hello*. Hit the Send button, and WhatsApp will automatically make it bold.

Step 4. In order to type in Italics, you’ll need to add (underscore) “_”  before and after your chosen words or phrases e.g. _holla_ WhatsApp will now convert the text to Italics.

Step 4. For you to type in strkethrough, you'll need to add (tilde) “~” before and after the words or phrases you want to strike a line through e.g. ~hello~
