Reduce your direct copy and paste :

Okay now imagine I saw a post on Nairaland, "Linda Ikeji replies Wizkid"
I comment on that post, and later on i stumbled on your blog and am seeing the same thing. Same title, Same pics, Same everything... how will you expect me to comment. Its a waste of data!

Avoid using difficult captchas :

A captcha is a programm that protects websites against bots by generating and grading tests that human can pass but bots cannot. If you must use, use simply captchas.

Improving S.E.O. Rankings :

This is the major factor that determine the number of comments you will have.
Research shows that 74% of those who visits your blog topics through backlinks from search engines post comments. The reason is that when guests search anything on search engines and find the perfect answer to it through your blog topics, he/she will wish to show appreciation to you by posting a comment.

Posting inspiring topics :

Always make your topics lively if you need comments, you can even crack jokes in the middle of your topics that will even make a saddist laugh. We all want an entertaining life.

Carry readers along :

Words like - add yours; Don't just read and go,pls comment; gifts will be awarded to the best commenter, should be added to your posts, even they know you are kidding, you will not give them gifts,at least they will feel you know their importance.

Sufficient Readers/pageviews :

Latest research shows that out of 100 users that visits a blog, only 5 will comment which means if you don't have enough visitors, you can't have enough pageviews.
You can only achieve this by :
* Sharing on social medias
* sharing on forums e.t.c.

Close each topics with a question :

Closing each topics with a question seems to be a perfect way to increase the rate of comments.
According to research, Sometimes readers don’t know what to comment about. Posting a question about your post will give them an anchor point to what they can talk about. And seriously speaking, we should place that question right at the end of the post.
If your reader has read from the beginning to the end and got to that point, chances are that he or she is interested in what you’ve written.
The reader will be pretty motivated to answer your question.
One thing to note is that your question should be as general as possible, unless you want to direct the discussion to a specific point.
A general question allows for more freedom in their comments, so that your readers don’t feel constrained and choose not to comment in the end.
